New interior?
The good ol' tan interior in my jag is looking boring. i wanna change it up to a different color. Anyone know if different year jag interiors are interchangable? i have a 90 jag and wanna put a newer interior in(94+).
I would utilize a local upholstery shop. They can make what you want so you have a little say in the design. Will probably cost the same or less than a factory interior with more personalized taste.
I have wondered if you can put an X300 dash into XJ40 as well.
For instace: X300 digital AC for XJ40's analog
I can speak for the door panels yeah they can be interchangeable but costs too much .

i dont like the seats in my car. i was wondering if say the XJS bucket style seats will bolt right up and have the same wiring? and no, im never going to "paint" an interior...... not that cheap :P
It ain't cheap its called ingenuity...apparently you've never seen anything much outside of tacky tuner cars...once you saw a decent job with a neutral color you'd think otherwise...

all i want to do really is different seats and maybe get new carpet from an upholstry shop(maybe white or black with light brown inserts). I would like to do as much as i can myself before i get other stuff done. BTW has anyone had problems with their xj6/xj40 trunks with water? mine has a water leak somewhere. AND my trunk lid is rippleing SLIGHTLY from the subs in the trunk. never seen it happen before
I'd look for the leak somewhere on the rubber seals around the trunk...many times you can find the new gasket kits for cheap...many older cars leak water in their trunks...actually my mother in laws neon is the most recent one that comes to mind! I hate it when that happens because it smells so horrible...be careful with that and having your amp back there...the water makes the amp rust which wouldn't be good for the amp....
I just saw a 1997 xj6 Vanden Plas with a beautiful white leather interior. It looks exactly like the interior in my jag(1990 xj6). Does anyone know if everything will fit? Its a wrecked jag and been sitting in the yard for about 2 years now but in therior is in PREFECT condition. for 700 dollars i can HAVE the car so i can get the entire interior but i dont wanna buy soemthign and nothing will fit.
Albeit '94 XJ40 and '97 X300 are quite similar in regards to the shape of thewood trims onto the doors ,inside door handles.I believe most parts are interchangable like seats as well. However your front seats are adjusted in a different way but X300's seat buttons are near the seats .
I love X300's A/C unite but I don't know if it will fit into your existing A/C module . I believe X300 uses a different module than your XJ40 .Steering wheel should be an easy one .
That would a great set up as well if I happened to buy another XJ40 like '93-94 I would give it a try

NO PAINT! This is a jag not a honda any way the paint may look o.k. at first but even if you use the real vinyl paint it scrachs off real easy! tried this once on a 70 nova looked great for about 6 months then ugh.........
I agree, no paint. The way to go, for those of you wanting to freshen the leather, is to re-dye the leather. The dye goes into the leather, and will last much the same as the original dye. There are several companies that offer good dye products, one being Leatherique, who makes great leather care products, as well as the dye. They can also match the color of faded leather for repair jobs. Doesn't take away from the originality of your cars.
