so without mentioning any names a person married to me did not understand the operation of the ashtray cover and instead of pushing it gentily to close she grabed it and pulled and I heard a snap, now of course it will not stay open. This is in my 07 XK Coupe. Any suggestions on how to fix.

Why is divorce so expensive?...because it's worth it!.....Sorry to hear this happened, hopfully someone alot smarter than me will be by soon for some input.

 

Mail it off to Jaguar Customer Relations and tell them to quit making things out of crappy plastic.

Further, you might point out to them that the construction is "not fit for purpose". That's a phrase commonly used in consumer complaints and known to their lawyers.

 

$195 + and it is a big job,watched them do mine.
