Ive had this car for a little while now and im really thinking about doing an intake and exhaust system for it. Ive read that the transfer case can support roughly 250ft/lb torque, so i shouldnt be hurting anything.

Does anyone know what the best intake to use for this application is? The exhausts are all around the internet, but the intakes not so much.

Any advice on performance upgrades would be awesome. Thanks.

It's my understanding that the stock intake is already quite good; it get scold air from the front of the radiator. I'm also under the impression that it's not restrictive at all compared to the size of the throttle body.

Tuning the 2.5 to 3.0 level of performance is likely not viable cost-wise, compared to switching to a 3.0 or swapping the engine. Or something

 

Hey Aonsaithya, I understand what your saying but as long as fluid is full in the transfer case and that 250 ft/lb torque maximum isn't surpassed than a few minor aftermarket upgrades really should not be a problem right?. With an exhaust and intake how much more torque do you think you will get? i was figuring in the range of 30 maybe? if the 2.4 X-type is stock at 180 ft/lb torque then even if i was adding 50 ft/lb or torque, i may be cutting it close but certainly not surpassing. I really want the benefit of a quicker throttle. As far as the intake I have had my eye on this..

I heard it on youtube and its the best sounding exhaust i heard on the X-type yet. These too mods alone should pep things up without damaging anything. Thanks for the response.
