An addition to the Ingenium line of engines will soon be debuted in the Range Rover Sport HST. An in-line 6 cylinder gasoline engine will replace the supercharged V6 in coming models. The new turbocharged 6 will have an electric supercharger to offset turbo lag and will have a 48 volt electrical system.

I read this yesterday and it certainly is a big change, although BMW has used in-line 6's for many years with great success. The logic appears to be better fuel economy and fewer emissions.
