I will be deploying in a few weeks to provide "New Equipment Training” for our troops. I do not know what internet services are available or if I will have any. If you don't see a post from me for a few months, please don't terminate my membership. Will try my best to be on the site, maybe add some photos too?

Hey reyesl, stay safe out there. We have quite a number of members who are or have been on deployment over the years.

All of you are always welcome here.

Reyesl, your post count already places you in a Membership Safe category.

If you are able to login from time to time that would be great, even if it is just to say Hi, we will be glad to hear from you.

All the best,
Richard

I got temporary internet so a little update.

The flight from Washington Dulles to Kuwait International took 12 hrs.
Currently in Kuwait awaiting transportation to Afghanistan. It is nice and cool here, about 60 degrees F.

That's about all I can say for now.

The main thing is, you didn't have to sail there. Just imagine!

Have a kip, and stay alert.

Seen that a few times; Be Alert, what the hell is a "lert"? some sort of character from....

Wouldn't mind a criuse, I haven't been on the water since 1997.
And I was born in Hawaii and grew up in the water.

Good thread to see! I wish I had found this site when I was in Iraq as it would have helped me get started on the Jag I inherited. But, good to know for my next trip, if/when that happens. Thanks for all you guys do on this site!

Default 6 weeks left in Afghanistan...

I am getting close to going home, I have not been able to log on the site as much as I wanted.

Can't wait to get in a vehicle that does not have a truck suspension!!!!

I have a lot of photos, will need to do a little editing before I can post them.

A Few photos of my Trip:

Russian Placed Land Mines behind the fence line.

C-47 on the Aircraft I was on from Kuwait to Afghanistan.

C-17 that slid off the runway on ice. The aircraft was slowly turned around and is now being prepared to be moved. A new Taxi-way was built to move the C-17.

Awesome pics Reyesl, thanks for sharing!

Question though......why not post them in large format within the body of the post?

So much better for all to see, as below......

With the ones you've posted.......all you should really need to do is to click on the pic so it opens up, right click on it, copy, then paste into the post.......

If you need help with this for these pics or for future then please just check out the how to post pics in the help n suggestion centre.
If you still struggle ask a mod or myself and we'll be happy to help....

It comes up saying that I can't access the images and need to speak to the site administrator. I'll keep poking around.
I've got some good friends there - one just came back and one just had Thanksgiving over there. My unit is slated to head there in a year or two as well, though who knows for sure.

Reysel
If you delete the thumbnails you can lose the link - I don't know anyway around this for uploaded pic files - or how you got away with it on your first post of pics !!.
BTW I use the Barrett for blooping off UXO. Great fun.
