This is a great site. There is so much information to be had. I am wondering that since there was such a long run with 12 cyl. and 6 cyl. cars for the XJS if it would be advantageous to separate the categories. I have a 6 cyl. car and most of the things that pertain to the 12 cyl. car do not apply to my 6 cyl. car. I'd like it a lot if they could be separated. Thanks for allowing me to make the suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion. Good to hear you are enjoying the forum.

We did this split with X300 and X305 for the 1995-97 four door 6 and 12 cylinder saloons but I'm not convinced it's been a success. In total, there are more similarlities than differences where a model has powertrain options. A similar arguement could be put forward for splitting X150 forum for 4.2 and 5.0 litre variants but again there is more in common with the two than separates them.

XJS is a long established forum and there's the not inconsiderable matter of 13,394 threads to be categorised and moved.

However, the forums are run for the benefit of members and if there is sufficient wish from our XJS owners, we could split it. I usually loathe forum polls but this is a perfect example of one being suitable. If you feel strongly enough about it, I'll post a poll thread in XJS forum seeking members opinions.
