Default Getting a Mark VII home

So I will be picking this up soon. I have access to a new roll back from work to make life a little easier. Where it is located I think we will have to drag it out with a come along until we can get it where the roll back winch can reach. Should I remove the brakes before I pick it up or just use wheel dollies to get it in the garage? (they won't help in the gravel)
I will also be going up before with a chain saw to hopefully get the roll back closer. As it is underneath my grandparents shop and been there for about 40 years. My grandfather was the second owner and drove it to this spot after it was their daily driver for a long time. Here are the pics I was given.

Good luck, I've got one of these cars also. The brakes may have locked up from sitting, but you might get lucky. It will slide okay on dirt and gravel but a set of wheel dollies would save you a lot of aggravation once it's in your garage. I'll be interested in your journey, best of luck.

I well up with tears when I see posts like this. The poor beast. I hope you were able to get it out and that you're ultimately choosing to get it running again. My Mark IX is a very nice daily driver; not a concourse vehicle by a long shot. But it gives me (and most people around me) tremendous joy when I take it out and stretch its legs.

The MK 7,8,9's are rarely seen as the cost of restoring them are high. They do draw many questions every time you fuel them up. Enjoy being Unique.

I'm really curious; what happened since your original post in April? Did you get it home? Are you considering any type of restoration?

Well long time no update but today was finally the day I was able to go and get it. Weather and work cooperated. Front brakes were locked but before we got it on the trailer we freed them as well. I had a new set of tires and a set I bought at the frog follies just in case to make things easier but didn’t need them. Here are a few pics more pics to start a progress.

Bloody lovely.
I drove MK7 Jags from 1963 to 1979 as my daily drivers.
I am currently helping a friend restore a MK7M
Keep up the good work!
Cheers

Got her in the garage and started spraying the engine down to loosen everything up. Also found my grandfathers service notes so that was a nice surprise. Also had a large shop vac full of walnuts from the trunk and interior.
