Default HD8 Carb

Item 23 - Housing assembly - jet. Mine has a crack in the alloy body but I have a spare HD6 housing, but the shaft passing through the housing for the cam shoe (26) is a lot shorter, can these be changed over easily. It looks like you have to knock out a pin to release the shaft. Has anyone done this before?

Cheers,
Ralph

It's a 1967, 420, 4.2 motor, manual overdrive with twin HD8's, I'm slowly compiling parts to convert to triple carbs.
