Ive enjoyed reading about Jags here. I bought a Porsche Carrera. My 2003 X308 drives but jitters seeking gears.
I've been inactive on Jaguarforums because my XJ has needed nothing but Mobil1 Synthetic and two fuses. If you are willing to invest a few thousand in a nice car with a diagnostic report for metal in pan/synchros, and that may need a partial transmission rebuild this might be the Jag for you. I'll sell my quartz/charcoal XJ8 to the first $1,200(work needed already reflected in price.) I will edit with actual VIN in July.
This car runs but jitters seeking gears after being in family and 15,000 pleasureable trouble free miles since inheritance. The only code is gearbox failure, everything works except passenger door speaker and power antenna. Headliner is great up front but sags in back. 2012 clearcoat job holding up well and shines like new after wash or rain. 75K miles on engine, 125K on chassis (rain in gastank)
Inherited vehicle has needed only oil and a couple fuses. I'm on to a six speed 911.
