Description:

Full disclosure, this is not a well car . . .

It's a 2010 XF Supercharged that has treated me well for the last several years.  I just spent the better part of a day pulling the center console to re-solder the bad resistor.  Took it for an, admittedly aggressive, driven and limped it back home in reduced performance mode.

I had it towed to my local dealership n Norwood, MA and they said it needs a new engine.  They didn't give a lot of details, about the diagnosis, but mentioned the presence of metal flakes in the oil.  When I picked it up today, I pressed the service advisor about how they determined that and he couldn't give a solid answer.  They did not drain the oil and I confirmed that the engine still has oil in it.  I haven't drained the old to verify.

So I'm listing this car for sale with, what I assume to be, a bad engine.  The car starts, runs rough at low idle, and runs ok at higher ram. There's a bad clicking noise on the right side of the engine when it's running.  Sounds like a timing or vacuum to me, but what do I know.

It needs new pads and rotors, the center dash speaker and the right rear speaker sound like crap, butother that that it's all good.

I've had offers from junkyards for $2k.  I'm hoping it may be worth more than that to some on the forum.  Anyone interested?

pic to follow tomorrow

Comes with two keys.

Comes with two sets of wheels:
-winter wheels are on the car in the pics. The rear winter tires were bought new in October and have less than 1k miles on them (thanks covid) $730. Yes, the front left wheel winter wheel does not match the color of the others. I purchased a replacement and it turns out there are two different chromes, oof. Regardless, the other three wheels are functional but have curb rash. Good candidates for repaint/refinish.

-Summer wheels are Covington and have Falken summer tires mounted on them. Right rear has a dent in it that causes a slight vibration. See pic when I bought the car that has the summer wheels.

Fired her up yesterday, rattle is still there but goes away at rpm over 2500 rpm. Computer alerts that car is in reduced performance mode.

Freshly waxed
