Description:
Purchased this as a Spring project but things didn't pan out. Vehicle was parked for ~8 years in the previous owner's car port after he passed away, engine is seized from sitting as far as I can tell, maybe a ring ridge? Checked all cylinders with my borescope and they look great, oil looked and smelled great w/ no evidence of glitter. Currently sitting with the cylinders filled w/ Diesel-ATF-Marvel Mix, may eventually come free.
The Bad: Car has had numerous paint touch ups in weird spots, mainly along the passenger side of the car. Some rust bubbling starting on the bottom rear corner of both front doors, but the underside is so rust free it could near-enough put a California car to shame (pic included). Wood veneer on the dash is cracking. Driver's seat leather doesn't feel the best through the seat covers so it's going to need a re-skin on that seat. Leather on the upper passenger door inserts has split from age and the previous owner felt the need to cover it in tape so it'll need new inserts. Currently has the RH exhaust removed (for access to the starter/flywheel), and the Fan removed (for access to the crank from above), these are obviously included w/ the hardware bagged and labeled.
The Good: Absolutely no rust underneath. New fuel pump, pressure regulators, valve cover gaskets, cam half-moon seals, possibly some ignition components(?), plug wires, AC compressor, belts, subframe bushings, steering rack bushings, control arm bushings, shocks, brake system, and I'm sure I'm missing some other stuff. Trans pan is seeping a little, trans pan gasket kit included in the trunk. Car also has box of some spare bushings and other odds and ends in the trunk, original Series 2 wheels and hubcaps, Leyland Repair manual, along with the original owners manual and Fuel Injection troubleshooting pamphlet. Also has a brand new Gear-Reduction Starter installed
Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Might consider trading for a Series 3 XJ6 project of some kind
