    Hi
I am at the point of desperation with a dead XJR6!
Basically, after an extended time in storage and a weld repair, the immobiliser will not disengage.
I have done all the regular stuff, like checking fuses and relays, and have even been able to do a complete module swap from another car.
I have posted to the forum under X300 XJR immobiliser. Tried everything! for more details of my tail of woe.
But it has been suggested you might be able to modify the ECU to disable the immobiliser?
Is this something you would suggest? And what would you charge please?
    Thanks.
    Andrew..

    Hi
Just put up a question about Getrag 290's in the xjr6 forum and you are clearly the man with the knowledge so thought I'd make contact.
I'm a Brit in Northern California. (I was in UK last week and back again in May so I go back and forth quite a bit and usually wind up taking parts in both directions...if you need anything from this side let me know).

There are chevy silverado getrag 290s available here but I don't know about compatability, do you know anything about that particular box? My plan is to merge a 96 xjr6 into a 76 xjc I have. about to buy the xjr and was going to do the gearbox conversion in that before moving it all into the xjc later....

I'm from Coventry and have jag in my blood...

    cheers

    Hi Andy
Had a new customer enquire about swapping an AJ16 engine:
Hi Lee, I am fitting a Jaguar AJ16 to an old classic car. The engine uses a Jaguar AJ16 Sagem Lucas GEMS-6 ECU, which has the security immobilizer function as standard. Would your Mobi-Lize product be suitable as a work-around for the security immobilizer? Thanks, Peter
I manufacture the Mobi4 and have made a FFFF out tool for the Land Rover GEMS so that I can reset the GEMS to factory condition so that it does not require a security code.
Is the Jaguar XJ16 GEMS security code system the same and will it accept the FFFF code and reset to factory condition? I only have the Rovacom Lite with the Land Rover SM001 software and will try to put the Jaguar GEMS into security learn mode with it when it arrives on my workbench in a couple of weeks.
Any information that you have would be much appreciated.

    Hi Andy,

By any chance do you still have that DFX file for the AJ16 header flange? I know I have some light cracking and there will come a day I have to address the issue. It would be nice to have a quick starting point if I decide to get creative instead of trying to source a set from across the pond.

    Thanks!

Andy: Received your bracket yesterday; Thank you. I was wondering if you have any instructions for installation of the bracket? I can't remember if you had already provided one, but if so, I have misplaced it. Thanks again!

Love your bracket upgrade for my 1996 XJS AJ16 engine! I'm assuming you don't offer any other upgrades for the XJS itself? Not sure whether the drop links would work for my car. Thanks.

    Hi Andy....

Im back in the jaguar fold with my third XJR6 (this time a 5 speed manual car) ...which is already fitted with an upgraded crankshaft SC pulley and your crank positioning sensor bracket.

However this enquiry is about the XJR6 manifold flanges or alternative cadcam file you were supplying....I guess you might have the cadcam file but do you have any flanges £?

I can cut and weld quite well so the task of making the manifolds isnt that daunting but I also noted that you had made some entire manifolds in the past. I assume these didn't hang around waiting for buyers but i am still curious on your interest in making them again £?

lastly....do you know where i can source piston rings and crankshaft / con rod journal bearings.

My initial research indicates that these have not been obtainable for some considerable time....

Hope you can help with some of the above ....

    Merry Christmas to you

    David
