Hello every X-Typists, the sale man show me an X-Type when I went in to a dealer; After test drive I was hooked. After search on the net I found a Gold 03 that fit my budget, drove it home from D.C. area I told myself:" I will not drive any other car but the X-Type; The distinction, elegantly of modern classic styling set it apart from all other cars, feeling of the luxury of leather and wood grain (even it's faux wood) by British car, the rid was sooo sweet. I know that to able to enjoy The X-Type I have to get my hand dirty, the nearest Jag. dealer i 45 minutes from my place and the cost to repair was out of my reach. I crash fist X-Type couple of years later, I got another 03 X-Type and some one crash into a few months later, now I had a 04 Burgundy from auction. One funny thing is Own three X-Type through 9 years just recently I discovered how to fold down the rear bench seats and I have learn a lots of things from sea of information of this forum. THANK EVERY BODY.

I would like to post this as of experience from what happen to my car; My 04 X-Type get low coolant every time I drove it, and occasional get over heat, I just keep add the water, the the last time it got over heat the engine not start any more, I have to tow it home. Check the engine and drain the oil, water came out from oil pan first then the brownish muddy follow out, check the spark plugs they are all wet. So, if you observe the lost coolant but not find the leak, the chance are the head gaskets are blew, and water got into the engine; only one way to do is replace the head gaskets and flush the oil.

My 04 X-Type got over heat and it not start any more, toll it home. I check the oil, it's thick and browny, I drain the oil; The water came out first then the thick and muddy.I pull the spark plugs out, they are wet and dirty, I guess the coolant got into the engine; Need a major internal clean up, and investigate where in passage? Any body what the easiest way to clean this mess out?
