Hi Grant, first I would like to thank you for your help with my cage build.
Yourself and Greg offer so much it enables people like myself to look after a car such as an XJS.
Washout this knowledge and support I would not be able to own this car.

So second and more importantly I need to apologies.
I will not always follow advise, sometimes I need to learn the hard way.
BUT... respect needs to be given to though that have gone before me.
    So please accept my apology.

I will be sending this same message to Greg,.
    Yours humbly..

Grant, I've been reading through several of your posts that reference an "HE Tune Up" document, but I can't find the document anywhere on the forum. Would you mind posting it again?

    Thank you!

    Mathew,

Thru the Jag fraternity, NAH, as you are finding.

ReCar at Modbury, its been 20 years, but they rebuild racks, and did a few for me waaaay back.

Memory, HAHA, is the top tower seal is identical, if not the same as the XJ Series and XJS etc, and IF you have the old one, the likes of CBC, Gardner Bearings, Ludowici Seals (were at Regency Park), should be able to match it up.

S A Suspension, Ween Road Pooraka, also rebuild racks etc, and may be able to help. Warren is the contact there.

    Hope that helps a bit.

    Hello Grant
I notice you are in Adelaide as I am!
Any suggestions where I can get a steering rack tower seal from for E type series 3, everywhere I try says they are not available, so what do people do?
    Thanks

    Craig,

    That will be fine.

The V12 is NOT fussy at all.

20W50 was specified back in the day, when 15W40 was rare.

Some still prefer 20W50, and I stay out of that discussion.

Try it, if the engine has good oil pressure, winner.

The HE's were all happy with a 15W40, and the PreHE is still OK on 20W50 (650000kms).

Diesel oil is fine, as they always have better detergent packages than other oils. Keeps the inside a tad cleaner.

    Hey Grant,

Is this what you use for the HE V12?

    Hi,

I have a XJ6 series 3, the indicator lights aren't working on the dash. I have checked the bulbs which are located in the tacho and speedometer and they are fine. The lights on the outside of the car are working fine. It makes the ticking noise when you flick the lever left and right as it should. Does the relay located next to the fuse box under the dash control this? If anyone has any ideas how to resolve this problem please let me know. Thanks.

    Renos,

Its been a few years, but this is what I know.

S2, early S3, XJS up to about 1987, are the same booster.

RHD and LHD are the same.

    6cyl or V12 no difference.

Master cylinders did change from Imperial to Metric, but the mounting to the booster stayed the same.

You should have a brake repair specialist somewhere who could put a new diaphragm in it. Might not be easy to find, but they are all over the world. Down here it is PBR, and the last one I have done (loooooong time ago) was $450, so not cheap.
