Default 420 brakes

Hey guys, it’s about time to do the rear brakes on my ’67 420. Anyone know if the calipers and rotors interchange with anything else? Maybe from a Series I XJ? Appreciate the help

The rear discs are the same part number C26779. The calipers are numbers differently (11833/11832 on the XJ6 and C27118/C27119 for the 420) so are not the same but from the diagram in the parts book I cannot see a lot different with them. They are both twin piston calipers (one either side) and as the rear IRS did not change much I would assume they are inter changeable but can't check the bolt hole pattern and size. I don't know if the XJ6 calipers are any better or more efficient so not sure if it is worth the change.

I've heard of people using 420 and series XJ rear brakes on Mk2 rear axles. If that's possible, it seems likely that 420 and series XJ are interchangeable. I guess that bolt spacing and possibly the handbrake are the main potential problems.
