Front wheel hubs for disc wheels: Mk2 vs 420
Are the front wheel hubs for disc road wheels the same on the Mk2 and the 420 (and S type) or at least are they interchangeable between the two models?
The part numbers for the centre lock (spoke wheel) hubs are the same and the aftermarket suppliers provide the same part for both cars. However, the part numbers for disc wheel hubs are different C.15312 for the Mk2 and C.23436 for the 420. The S type parts manual also gives C.23436 for the front hubs.
If anyone can tell me the difference between C.15312 and C. 23436, I'd appreciate it.

Peter ~ IIRC the only difference was to add a water slinger/flinger disc to better protect the inner bearing. They are certainly interchangeable. Many fit the 420 stub axle assembly to accommodate the better brake pads (& cheaper & more available in a normal parts store as the calipers were different). A lot of parts commoditisation/commonisation was taking place at that time to overcome an over complex compact range pre XJ6.
