Information provided.
I have recently noticed a lack of information required with a question.
There are many of us here that are more than willing to try & help you. We all have our strengths & weaknesses.
Give us the most information you can with your query. The better the question the better will be the reply/answer from members with knowledge of the situation you find yourself in.
I'm not picking on anybody but lets use steering as an example. Tell us whether it is Manual or Power Assisted Steering & approx year of manufacture of the vehicle. Also exactly what the problem you are experiencing is.

It is also important to define
manual gearbox
overdrive
automatic gearbox
engine capacity (particularly in MK1/2 where 2.4 cars have some differences)
left- or right-hand drive.
As an example, some years ago, I was contacted by a local Jag club member with a 3.8 Mk2. He said it would not go into top gear.
I was looking for reasons why a manual gearbox selector system would freeze up
By chance another club member knew this car and told me it was an automatic.
The fix was simple. Renew all rubber engine/gearbox mounts and readjust the kick down rod which had been holding it in second gear.
The old rubber mounts decay and allow the engine gearbox assembly to move which upsets the mechanical linkages to the automatic gearbox
Getting the correct information in the first place is essential

I Just picked on steering because there are 4 types in the period we are discussing & then LHD or RHD.
1) Manual
2) First type PAS
3) Second type PAS
4) Varamatic PAS
5) LHD (left hand drive), RHD (right hand drive)
The first 3 you set toe on the centre rod with fixed length outer tie rods. Varamatic you first need to set the drop arm to center on the steering box. Then toe is set on the outer tie rods. Centre rod is fixed length.
Thanks.
