Default MK2 Sun Visors

Can any body tell me which way round the visors are mounted, that is wide end or narrow end towards the mirror. I can only find one photo of the set up (Nigel Thorley) but its not plain due to prospective creeping in. I had to remove mine for the reno', 20yrs back.
Any tips on replacing the chrome band that covers the sides and bottom????
I have made several dry runs, but not so easy after adhesive has been applied into the groove,!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you in advance.
Barry

Hi Barry

What year is the car, because my 1967 Mark 2 didn't have any edge trims ?

On Mark 2s the visors started out being recessed into the headlining, but this was dropped at some point. On mine the base piece had a whole at one end for the finger of the hinge mechanism to be pushed into. They could only go on one way.

Frazer, its a 1961. Yes the early version was reccessed similar to the mk1X. The edge is about 3/16-1/4 deep. The visor is wider(or deeper) at one end. The 'hole' is acceessable from both ends. The only picture Ive got is in a book by Nigel Thorley, but the prospective leads the eye to believe they are of equal depth, or perhaps they were at some time. Its been 20yrs, I did not think that I would need to record any info at the time, as it seemed logical at that moment.
In the meantime, I was hoping some one could just look into thier car and have a 'Shuvti', but my delema seems not to have interested anybody. Perhaps some will take pity on my plight.

Best thing would be to attend a Jaguar car rally and look at a few Mark 2s. Are you in the JEC ? They are having a National Day on 21st June at Thoresby Park (a large country hotel) near Nottingham.
