Default parking brake pads

Hello, can any one advise where I can get the correct parking brake pads for my 1968 340, Barrats have supplied part no 8522 which according to them are correct, To all intents the backing pad is the correct shape and they fit the pad carrier but the friction pads are parallel to the backing pad, The originals are tapered, this is not abnormal wear ,all four pads are excactly the same, they taper from 12mm at the trailing edge to 9mm at the leading edge, As a matter of interest the car still has the Dunlop System fitted. Regards Kenny.

Hi, I suspect your original pads have worn with a taper due to the action of the handbrake mechanism. I have fitted replacement pads like you have purchased and after a lot of fiddling around getting the slack out of the cables, the handbrake seems to work quite well. Hope this helps.

I take your point but, The parking brake pads only make contact with the disc when the brake is applied and the car is stationary so there is no friction to wear the pads, if the park brake was maladjusted and wear did occur it would be more or less parallel over the friction area?? Adjustment of the park brake mechanism as per the Workshop manual makes no difference.
