Sorry I'm so quiet. I'm ill & in and out of hospital. I have had every test & scan under the sun. Zero found. Problem is colon & stomach related and awful.
Glyn, We're very happy to see you back. I had been thinking of contacting you. Medical diagnosis can be slow. After half a century of occasional digestive system problems, a very young Chinese medic looked at some of my blood results and asked me if anyone had suggested that I might be coeliac. My response to her was what's coeliac. More tests confirmed the young girl's opinion. That's only one of three health conditions that I've had most of my life that but hadn't been identified until I'm well past normal retirement date.
We hope the fact they can't find anything will not prevent a rapid recovery. Best wishes.

Hi Glyn,
I was thinking about you and wonder how are you doing? I hope everything is going OK. Please popping every once in a while and let us know how things are.

Hi Glyn,
I hope things are going ok for you! You are missed here. Lets us know how you are doing. Take Care,
Bob
It is with sadness that I have to report that Glyn Michael Ruck passed away on the 29th of August 2025 after a short illness. Further details are not known.
Glyn was a font of knowledge with S Type Jaguar and the Mk2 and knew more about CKD Jaguars built in South Africa than most. He was a good friend and although he rubbed some people up the wrong way with his South African ways he was always willing to give good sound and accurate advice to this forum.
I am glad that over the years he was able to impart a lot of his knowledge on to the pages of this forum that people will be able to search and use. There is an awful lot more that he knew that we no longer have access to.
RIP my friend you will be missed.

This is Very Sad News. Glyn I will miss you and this forum will not be the same without you! The information that you knew about Jaguar South African CKD was fascinating and something I wish I knew more about. Thank you for all the knowledge extolled, I'm better off for it. RIP Glyn!
Thank You Cass3958 for letting us know of Glyn's passing.
Rob, Thank you for letting us know. It's very sad. We miss his knowledge and friendship. Without his contributions and the discussions they generated - he always wanted to get to the bottom of any topic, this forum has become very quiet.
I'll remember him for the heated discussions here, even getting himself banned, and the endless "what kind of oil is best" threads that went on and on.
I asked what was the best grease to use in the spring motor in a wind-up gramophone, and we communicated through PM over this.
He was intrigued with this as he was an Audiophile, and he was also surprised at just how large the springs were in these motors !
I kind of thought this was coming up, and even though I barely knew him, it's always sad when someone passes....
So sorry to hear about Glyn. He certainly was knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me with several issues on my car. He certainly will be missed.
