Two Mk 2s NW Florida
Saw these on Craigslist and went and looked at them, very tempting @ $2500 for the pair, always liked the Mk 2, but I have 5 project vehicles as it is. He said they were 1959, but the red car looks like it has a factory AM-Fm radio, no titles, where is the VIN plate to decode? I saw a info plate on firewall for types of oil but didn't seem to have a VIN. The black car is pretty rusty, the red one seems solid, the chrome is in good shape also, I did score the license tag/plate.

Engine and plate pic, he said the red one was running when parked, he's selling them for the widow of the owner, he towed them from a couple bblocks away, the black car's left rear wheel locked up and it ground down the wire spoke rim from towing.

OK, they're rusty on top, but that would be due to paint deterioration from sunlight. It's what is hidden that is the main concern with restoring these cars. A Mark 2 is a lot of work and I should know, it took me seven years starting from a bare shell !! What is incredible is the shine on the chrome-plated parts, especially the bumpers. Clearly not been near salt-laden roads !!
If one of these was restored properly, it would be over £30k here in the UK, probably nearer £40k
