Default 1998-VandenPlas

Hey..
I usually work euro-models, but actually it's a cylinder head R&R 1st on a Jag for me.
The unit is a 1998 VandenPlas and has a 4.0 v8 (nothing but a beauty) and it came to us with a crank-but-no start condition. Cylinder Compressure had the highest at 90 to 95 on some of them with a 0 (non at all) at others.
After re-freshing the heads (some valves bent) and everything back on the car the owner told us that just after the timing chains had been replaced the car became his worst nightmare.
So we'r loking to find the Best timing specs (please not the Alldata) version and pictures (Bentley If Possible) there are.
Best to All..
Rafy

Welcome to the forum Rafy,

Strange comment from the owner about the car becoming a problem after the timing chains were done.

Follow Norri's link to the X308 section for help, advice and information.

Enjoy the forum.

Hey Guys
Thank you all for your quick reply.
Norri, It's good to be accepted and to feel part of the team.
I have Alldata, and use it on my daily bases. But sadly the pictures they show are very poor in quality (in this specific section) but never the less a great source.
GGG.
I know it sounds strange to me too, but he did remove the car from that particular shop after replacing the timing chain kit, because as you all know this is an interference engine and apparently when the engine turned some valves were bent, and the engine never started. And I will follow Norri's link to the X308 section for help, advice and information.
JimC64.
Thanks for the upgrade and I will be using and enjoying it it as soon as I finish posting this reply.
Great big family is what you guys are, please don't change a thing, this is just what this world needs POSITIVE PEPOLE WHITH POSITIVE THINKING...

Blessed..
Rafy

Bent valves and timing probably not setup correctly by the previous shop. You've got some work on there.

Follow Norri's link to the X308 section and download JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System) from the 'sticky' threads there.

Good luck.

Graham
