98 XJ8 My sons first car

Hello everyone. Got what seemed to be a good deal on the 1998 XJ8 with 120k on the odometer. Finding out quickly about leaking plug tube seals and where to get parts. Surprisingly E Bay is becoming a good source.

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues. Especially look for info on plastic tensioners and cooling system issues - both are known weaknesses on this model.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
