Back in the fold
I owned and drove an 1954 XK-120 roadster from 1959 to 1969. I then went astray with a variety of "Detroit Iron".
In late Nov, 2010, on impulse and little knowledge, we purchased a 1997 XK8 carnival red, coupe. It had 26,000 miles on it and was in good nick. We put 2,000 trouble free miles on it. Then I changed the oil and left to cruise on my 44 ft sailboat in Turkey, Greece, Croatia and Italy. Since I expected to be away for most of the year, I left the Jag with my daughter. She kept in a garage and ran it occasionally.
We are returning to the states next week. The car has 4 new Michielins. I know about the cam chain tensioners. What else should I checkout or change?
