chassis number
Hello all. I just got a 92 Sovereign last Saturday. Its the most refined vehicle I have ever had and is a car I'd never thought I'd get a chance at.It has its little problems, and I intend to do everything that I can for myself as I always have with my other cars. That said, I have been poking around parts websites looking over tune-up parts, brake pads, belts etc, just to get info. No it doesnt need. I have noticed that belts listings call for a chassis number. Is this merely the serial section of the VIN, or do I need to get out my creeper and crawl under? I'm a bit afraid this may be a stupid question, but terminology is as terminology does. Thanks, Jerry
Well, for starters, WELCOME! As for chassis number, maybe I'm just ignorant or unknowledgable, but I've never heard of something called the chassis number. Call the dealer and ask, they usually "try" and help. But Jag customer service sucks so good luck!
Ok, thanks for the response. It seems to me, that if you, as a moderator, aren't familiar with the term, that it must be a British-ism (not that thats bad), and therefore refers to the VIN. I will of course not hold you responsible for my deductions, and try to return wrong parts when I'm proved wrong.
No, I am completely American. Not suprised about the service though, Im always reluctant to go to dealers of any kind. Theyre alway so busy covering their butts.
