Default Desert Sovereign

Hi,

I am the second owner of a 1991 Sovereign, love the ride. We have few weather related issues here in Albuquerque except for dry rot (rubber), and paint. The sun can be brutal, but we don't know too much about rust. I have always enjoyed luxury cars and have owned many, but nothing beats the Jag.

After 20 years, the car is showing its age... thought of replacement, but can't see any sense in trying to find something newer with the same body style (the Square Lights are too cool). So I am keeping her, and bringing everything up to speed.

Motor is good. Interior almost perfect. Paint needs help here and there. There are some minor issues that I will be chasing down, looking for information and advice.

Happy to find this site.

Well, just call me stupid, but I am new to this and am not too sure how to post. So if this works, good.

Immediate plans for the Sovereign is to replace the steering rack, fuel pump, then work with the paint and some interior cosmetics. Any thoughts or insights on the above will be greatly appreciated.

I have downloaded and printed Mike Stubblefield's Haynes manual for the XJ6 (free), helpful but still a straight out tech manual. Seems we all know some better ways to skin a cat.

Thanks
