Default Greetings

Hi

My name is Mark and I am the proud owner od a 05 X Type. I have nearly 40 years esperience in restoring everything from Mustangs to VW's to Supras.

My wife fell in love with this car and had to have it. Before purchasing I did a fair amount of research. Yes I found the bad, but that can be found with many cars. I also found the good.

I will unfortunately have to schedule a service appointment for a nasty growl that reminds me of a bad bearing. It can be heard growling the best between 20 and 40 mph. If it were not under warranty I would be doing this myself.

If anyone from PA can recomend a good Jaguar Service department I am all ears.

This does not sour my liking for the car. I like it's power and handling. Body stiffness and of course styling.

Regards
Mark Davis

Thanks Jim

I have already done the reading in those areas. Sounds like it may be transfer case or pilot shaft bearing or bearings. Quest will be to find a dealership that will do the same quality work as I do myself. Not an easy find when working on flat rate ^^

Hey Davis, welcome. Before you start thinking TC, check out the prop shaft threads. Especially if the noise is only under cold conditions and at certain speeds.

PS You make a good point. The bad gets a lot more talk than the good. When we have problems we usually turn to our friends here for help and reassurance. When we don't, we love our Cats and smile at everyone else we pass that doesn't have Jag leather under their bum. May be time for one of those "why I LOVE my Jag" threads again...maybe in the spring...

Greetings Mark,

Welcome to the club. Jim got in touch with me in case I might be of assistance, but I'm 300 miles west of Loretta. Good luck with your new acquisition.
