Default Greetings!

Hello all!

I live in a little town in South West Michigan. I have owned a Jaguar or 2 in the past, but both of them existed well before Al Gore decided to invent the internet. I really wish that I had this forum available as a resource back then, would have saved me a lot of time!

I recently bought a 1996 XJ6 simply because it was being sold for a very nice price. The owner was having financial difficulties and needed cash fast, so he sold it to me for only $2000. It is the base model and has 100k miles; nothing major in terms of problems, just some minor things that need fixing. I came here following a link posted about replacing the power steering lines and figured I would join, as I am certain that I will need additional help down the road

I am not a jaguar mechanic, but I am mechanically inclined and am not scared to approach a project that would seem too daunting to most.

I am looking forward to talking with you all!

Hi and welcome aboard.

Most of the usual repairs on your model are DIY-able. You'll do fine :-)

Cheers
DD

Hello and welcome to jaguarforums.com. I know that you are anxious to get started and we are anxious to meet you and talk about your car. We have a baseline / criteria that must be met before full access can be granted. Please enjoy the forum and be patient once the baseline has been satisfied full access will be granted. Please continue to post and accept my welcome to the forum.

If you haven’t already you need to put your car details in your signature. I am speaking of the Year, Make & Model. Without it you may not get the input you are looking for. To do this go to, User CP, Edit Signature, Add Vehicle Details and such and Save Your Signature.

Please take a moment and read the information provided to you explaining the rules. Be patient and enjoy the site.

Also, should you have questions related to your vehicle please post it in the section for your model year (MY) car. This way you will reach all the members that are familiar with your MY car.

I love the Al Gore thing!!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I came here to read up on power steering hose replacement (did it yesterday: successfully thanks to this forum post of instructions).

Now my second issue has been resolved in a matter of one day - I have been trying to find an answer for a month!

I will post some pics today - took a few yesterday but have to make them a bit smaller - the originals are like 20mb each.

Thanks again for the welcome and the help so far!
