Greetings from Calgary
Hi All,
As a new member I wanted to say Thank You to all the regular contributors to this forum.
In have been a Jag lover ever since my dad had a Mk11 way back when in the UK. I never wanted to own a newer one due the percieved high maintenace costs involved even though I am pretty handy with a wrench and trained as an auto electrician back in England but have not be activley involved with repairing vehicles for some years.
When the XK8 was introduced it was the most beautiful vehicle made since the E-Type (IMHO) I always wanted to own one.
I decided I had to have an XKR last year and have been looking for a decent vehicle since.
I found one in late october in a local non jag dealer lot right here in Calgary ( I have been looking as far away as California). When I went for a test drive I was shocked to discover It was a Silverstone edition in great shape at 88,000km, it needed a couple of repairs (ABS/Traction control module) which the dealer covered via the local Jag specialist. Picked up the car for a steal after a full inspection (no major issues found)
Without all the great advice and assistance from all the good people of this forum I would never had considered buying a Jag. Now I can't wait to enjoy the experience....next summer
The only down side is the two car garage and three cars to park. The Jag is not going outside for the winter.
I guess I will miss the wife?
