New Jag owner, picked up a 2004 S-type base 3.0 with very low miles. Suffering from "sticker shock" from the service prices from my local Jag dealer, hopefully I can put information found in this forum to good use.

As per ^there is a lot of stuff you can do yourself.

 

Like everybody has already said, you'll save a fortune if you follow the mounds of info on this site and DIY instead of going the dealership route. Most things are simple enough even for a girl like me. LOL (with the awesome detailed instruction from these experts, of course)
