Default Hello

Just to introduce myself.

I recently purchase a Ford Fiesta based Quantum H4 kit car for my son, very obviously not a Jaguar!

One of the Quantum owners is modifying his car to incorporate the engine gearbox and drivetrian from the MK1 Mondeo 4x4 which are very scarce.

My thought was would it be possible to use the X Type manual gearbox and drive train in the same way as it is Ford Based?

One intriguing thought on this for X Type owners wanting more performance is that by using a Ford Focus st170 bottom half (stronger than standard) with a Zetec 2.0 head (no VVT easier to turbocharge) and then adding a turbo and stand alone engine management system about 300 to 350 bhp is very achievable.

Even more power is available but then the cost and complexity goes up.

Regards

Andrew

Welcome to this friendly Forum.
I see you've already posted the 'tech' part of your intro to the X type section so let's see what they say.
There's also a Regional section here

Welcome to the forum Andrew,

It'll be interesting to see how this proposal progresses. I'll be keeping an eye on your thread in the X-Type tech section.

Enjoy the forum,

Graham
