Question Hello everyone

Well this is my first post and my first jag. I have a 94 xj6 that my mom gave to me. It has been sitting in the garage and she has had it since she got it new. Well tomorrow I will be working on it but it does drive good. I found some things wrong with it. One the valve cover gasket is leaking so I will be putting a new one on along with a new belt. But the biggest thing that troubles me is the heater and AC in the car. The heater works but only blows from the upper vents and the AC nothing. I push the button for AC and nothing happens no air no lights no noise. I checked the fuses and all that i could find are good. The only fuses I found were the one on the driver and passenger side. If anyone got any ideas I would love to hear about it. It has less then 105,000 miles on her. And next week I will be doing a tune-up on her changing the plugs and wires plus oil and filter. I would like to do the trans too but I'm not sure which fluids it takes. The engine oil i think is 10w30. So any advice is great. I will post picks tomorrow.

Oh my mom gave me the car about three months ago and she has had in Massachusetts. I live in Maine. I have changed the inner tie rod and changed the fuel relay.

Welcome to the forum EFrazen,

Follow Steve's link to the XJ40 tech section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

The XJ40 A/C has Vacuum Servo Motors to move the flaps directing the airflow which I recall as being troublesome from when I had this model. The guys in the tech section will be able to advise what and how to check the system.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham
