Default hello everyone i've new to the jaguar scene,

My name is Daniel Jarrett, and I just recently purchased a 2002 Jaguar X-Type with a 2.5L automatic/manual,(if that is right) . Believe it or not I test drove it and it was like a dream come true. I only paid $4800 for the car. It drove like a dream. I bought this car on the 31st of August. The third week i am in Huntsville and we live in Lewisburg ,Tenn. My wife calls and my daughter tells her to get to the E.R. by Ambulance. She has Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Anyway I set cruise on 88mph with the flashers on and we are making fairly good time on interstate 65 north, about halfway to the lewisburg exit it sounds like I ran over a piece of metal, you know scrapping and dragging sound. The engine light had been going on and off. Now the oil light is coming on and off too. The car starts slowing down to about 45 or 50mph. I make it to the exit and my engine sounds like its fixing to BLOW apart. The man i bought it from said he changed the plugs and put 5w30 synthetic oil becauses thats all he uses. The manuel says not to use this type of oil but coventional 5w30 oil. The first thing i thought was i blew all of the oil out of the engine. it was making that kind of sound. Finally it quit running and i got off the road. i checked the dipstick and it was about 2 quarts low. A friend brought me 2 quarts of 5w30 Valvaline Maxlife. i put 2 quarts in the car,got it started and got it home, which was about 3 miles. It was making a terrible racquet and i figured i was leaving a trail of oil and parts on the road behind me. i got it home and parked for 2 days. i changed the oil and filter with the correct amount of oil. It still made a clunking sound in the botton of the motor. i checked the harmonic balencer and all of the bolts were tight. That was the week of the 27th of September. I started it tonight for the first time in a week and I got a different sound. now its coming from the top of the motor. Could there be a possiblity that my oil pump just gave out? Or did i just spend all of my money on a pretty body with a f....d up motor. Does anyboby out there have a clue or am i due for a new motor which i cannot afford. I bought this car with the rest of my settlement money i got from working for Directv and falling off a house????????? and decent ideals?
