Default hello from hearsick!

hi all -

i've been a fan of jaguars for about 12 years now, i know, but i'm 28 so...

and i've been an enthusiast since about 3 days ago after test driving the most gorgeous '98 vanden plas i'd ever seen. long story short, the guy sold the car out from under me (at under 6k!! - the car only had 50k miles on it) and i've been sick about it ever since...

so i guess i'm just here for a kind word and to maybe hunt down another nice xj8 or at least get some advice on finding one that's got some life left in her....

anyhow, hello from omaha!

Hello Omaha!! That sucks that someone sold the VDP from under you. I'm hoping that same thing doesn't happen with me and a 67/68 Mk2 340 that I'm wanting to buy.

No worries, giraffe...another will come along. Keep your eyes on craigslist.org, and other places. Also, since you were watching for a 98, check out kbb.org, and when you get to the values, there will be a link to show local cars.

Peace!!

Welcome to the forums , I hope you get your dream Jag soon

XJ8 (X308s) nice too but I would go for XJ6 (X300s ) due to being more reliable

If you use "nikasil issue" you would find tons of horror stories but don't let them scare you lol
Some '98-01 model years affected this . Still, I do see some our members from '98-01 area running their cars like new without major problems at all
AJL6 is a real bullet proof
