Default Hello from Hertfordshire, England

Hi,

I'm Jerry and I live in Hertfordshire (near London Stansted airport), 40 miles north of London.

I currently have a year 2000 XJR and a 1994 XJS convertible, both of which I love. I have dispensed with my "sensible" cars and use these as my day to day transport. A bit thirsty, but other than that fantastic!

I will be doing some engine work on the convertible this winter, and am seriously considering supercharging it (using an AJ16 engine/gearbox from an X300 XJR). I runs really well now, but I am always a sucker for having sommething a bit different. I reckon that it would make the XJS an even nicer car to drive.

This forum has already helped me out by providing a solution to my parking sensor problem on the XJR, and I am looking forward to hearing about other Jag lovers experiences and problems.

Safe driving!

Jerry

Welcome to this friendly Forum. There's a UK section (in case you haven't found it) here
UK - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Have a good read of the XK8/R posts before trying the transplant - there seems to be a fair consensus that it's easier to swap cars !

Welcome to the forum HarleyJagMan,

Great pair of Jaguars.

If you do go ahead with the engine/transmission swap on the XJS, please start a thread in XJS section with pics.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Yes, if I go ahead with it I will certainly document my progress on the forum. I have read a lot about it and talked to people "in the know". A final decision hasn't yet been taken. It wouldn't be easy but the problems are not insurmountable.

An XKR is certainly on my "I want one of those" list. What a fabulous car. I agree that it would certainly be easier, but not quite as unique!

What I would really like is to supercharge the XJS AND get an XKR! What a combination that would be.
