hello, please allow me to introduce myself
I'm LRbill.I know,it looks like irbill,not big on caps.
It's not code 4 herbal or any thing near that creative.L R is 4 Landrover as in 1971 88''series 2a.
I like Brit cars.The xj6 I was posting about is my latest,a 97,last year 4 the 6 cil.
I had a xj8,wasent inpressed with the ford design v8,ended up having to replace the motor, locked up var.cam.adj'rs at first, after all new parts we found a huge chip n a cil.liner.cut a deal with coventry west.
Cut my losses after a front wheel berring failure.
Silly me,I thought the 6 cil.n the xj6 was a modern version of the 4.2 six,The motor I came to know and love from owning 3 E-Types,a 67,69,and 1970.
Great motors,the 67 3 carb.the best!
After the E-Types came an went,I really wanted a sports car I could drive alot,so went back to porsche's,after a few trys I settled on a95,993/911 what a car!
Anyway back to jags, the 97 xj is nice,I paid too much 4 it,but the milege was super low,the red paint is faded, and my wife hates it.For me I'd rather drive 'the jag' any time, any where than her 3 series b thing.
Some day I hope to drive my LR again,4 now it's n 2000 pieces as I started out to replace the frame, and got carried away.
Now I've gone **** on it,if it's not new,it gets rebuilt,blasted,painted or plated.
My other car is a Chevy truck or 2,one a 2005,the other a 1963 corvair stepside.
Yep u guessed it,I'm nuts,car/truck nuts.
In a preveous life, before retirement,I fixed printing presses for uncle sam.hope I dident get carried away with this intro. But now u have some idea who lrbill is.thanks to all who helped on my last post, the water n the oil seems to b condensate. hope every one has a happy and prosperous new year. Bill.
