Just created my profile because I have this crazy to buy my first Jaguar. I drive a 1991 911 Turbo and my wife drives an Acura MDX. We had a third car until recently (1999 Mercedes C280 - great car, by the way). It served us well and was my wife's primary drive. However, the clear coat started peeling something awful and I decided to dump it, as it was getting too ugly and it wasn't worth us fixing.

I wanted to get a 4 seat convertible as the next car (Saab, BMW, etc.), but the wife is against it. She joked about "why don't you get me that Porsche sedan." She really was joking. But as I scour Craigslist and the like, looking for something to catch my eye, I started looking into XJRs. And now I'm fired up to find one (thought it would be a 96-97, but now I'm looking at 01-03).

So that's what I'm up to. If anyone knows of a good wrench near Cupertino/Palo Alto/San Jose to do a PPI if/when I find the right car, please let me know.

Hello, you have nice choices , if you wanna buy X308 (V8 engines) make sure everything is done including tensioner replacement otherwise you would be feeling upset due to repairs

X300s, they don't have such problems but performance wise the latter is the winner
