Default Hi All

My name is Robert Call sign TheBrightKnight (chess lover ) and old work IND.Been Turning wrenches better part of say 40 years now.Have lathe-mill- wet jet etc all collecting dust.

Hope to be a regular at this site.I have had a few Jaguars but now have a 99VDP V8. I am a ASE Cert Master tech or was years ago. We owned a huge place on the East coast, now sold called Classic Auto where my father showed me and my brothers starting at the age of 7 how to sand spokes and restore 1910 Maxwells and 29 Ershkinks and 28 Studibakers up to late 70s and build motors on up. Did a bit at Honda as a Master tech PT.

I am a primary diagnostic tech with many Euro certs but not Jaguar but it seems to be the basic normal headache march now the scrolls.

Of course us being the boys we were started building 50s and 60s street rods and track cars all frame off restorations of most GM -Mopar and Ford Models.

I bought 1st Jag about 10 years ago with a blown motor and did a patch job on a cylinder and crank and ran it till it went up the rest of the way 2 years later. I Love the Cars and waited until I could find the one I like and it ended up being the 99 VDP. I like that model I am not sure how it fairs with the rest but its what I wanted and like or I would have another.

I was hurt in line of duty DOD and funds became low so I had to wait until one came within my price range and this one did. Has low miles and new tranny etc.I dumped off a 780 hp camaro show car to get it so I must keep it running as it is now my primary transpertation and mostly everyone is hackin on me its going to be money pit but I like what I like, end of story.

In Diagnostics I should be a asset here especially with computer controlled commands and reprograms and perks ,PBM and full conversions and swap outs once I get the D sheets and basic schem on board my puters here so I can see what the Jag master techs have been doing consistent and how the diagnostics sced has been. I am sure I will mill out parts etc once I educate myself with the units better. Mine will stay with me the rest of my years and I may do a ASC convert conversion if I decide to but I found I like the car as is for now.

Welcome to the forum Robert,

As Jim has said, Techs are always welcome.

Check (sorry - couldn't resist the pun) this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section. Help and advice if you need it. If not, then input to help others will be appreciated.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
