Howdy from Houston
Hi All,
I don't have it in hand yet, but I'm VERY close to pulling the trigger on a 2003 XKR - just waiting on a transportation quote. I'm looking for information on a good extended warranty (probably powertrain only) and recommendations for good shops in the Houston area.
Thanks!

You can always request Brutal as your tech at Momentum Jaguar - just ask for the technician who has a xj himself and a souped up nissan; he's a regular contributor on these forums and welcomes members to ask for him when bringing in their jag in for service.
On the warranty, try a forum-wide search for extended warranty, as you'll get plenty of suggestions and which ones to avoid in some circumstances. There are a ton of them available...just do your research and check the fine print for some items on the car that may be 'grey area', such as the hydraulic lines (if its a vert) motor mounts, door latches, coolant hoses, etc. One thing I can say about Jaguar's extended warranties...they practically cover everything on the car, though it will always be more expensive.
welcome to the forum!!

Hello and welcome to the forum. There is alot of useful info on here, and the people are wonderful with helping you out. As h20boy stated the warranties for these vehicles are pricey, some could even qualify as a car payment, but do research and make a goos informed decision.

Thanks for the welcome, everyone. CarChex told me today that the Mina exhaust system installed on the car I'm looking at made it so they couldn't offer a warranty, and they said no other company would honor one either. Does anyone have any experience with that?
Thats bs, i have customers with ext warranties and ex and lowered and they never seem to have issue. I will say that it depends on the tech your dealing with(non performance friendly, see my sig, that's not me
)
and depends on the mod. Put 20's on a car and lower it and have issue with suspension repair at that will probobly get you some issues. But even a aftermarket ext warranty company still falls under a states consumer affairs laws and protections, see magnuson moss warranty act
put nitrous on your car and need engine or tranny repair and not take the system off first and thats gonna be a problem too. Most ext warranty companies send out inspectors these days on repairs over $1000 so just keep that in mind. 1 of the best companies i deal with for the least hassle and best coverages is easy care, keep in mind too that there are differant policies and names out there that are one and same company. Jaguar extra mile, jaguar select edition, and easy care are 1 and the same. Differant phone numbers, same parent company and differant coverages and policies. What i always say about ext warranty compnaies is ask the people that work on the cars about the comanies service. We work with them and know that ones we don't like to work with caus ethey suck, we also have lists of names of people that answer the phones for claims not to talk to cause they too can be asshats and difficult to deal with.
