Default Intro and Question - Janguar Aggro during Economic Bust

Greetings!

My name is Phil and I'm in the Boston area. I've had my Jaguar 2002 X-Type since before it was new, driving it off the showroom floor minutes after it was unloaded because it was my dream car (complete with the British Racing Green and tan interior and with a stick as that's the only way to drive).

That said, I was wondering... given the economic bust period for the last couple of years I was wondering if any one else has been the target of "Jaguar Aggro" (a term I'm making up that comes from gaming to mean: "hate" generated by passersby against the innocent vehicle just for being there)?

I ask because over the years and not counting 2 replacements of the hood ornament, my car has been the victim of random keyings and way too many "careless door slams" which nicely skuff and mark up the doors and body - and it's way too much/often to just be accidental - especially where the keyings are concerned....

So... what about the rest of you? Has your car been subject to... aggro?

Though I do have to say, and probably shouldn't as this will probably undo the "magic," when I last replaced my hood ornament, I bought an extra. Since then (almost 5 years ago) nothing's happened such that I'd need it. Now that's the best $120 I've spent... :-)

PHIL

Note: I'm generally not a jerk and do not believe to be the specific target of this aggro as these things happen in all sorts of random parking lots.

Welcome to the forum Phil, accidental stuff I can live with, providing the culprit leaves their details, but deliberate vandalism NO No No.

Sorry to hear about the damage, Phil. I'm in southwestern Indiana and haven't had any vandalism on my S-type (however, I've only had it about 3 months). At any rate vandals don't always target classics like Jags. In the 90's I owned a Hyundai Sonata and it was keyed a few times. If the vandals were jealous of my Hyundai they really had a self esteem problem.

welcome Phil. Can't say as I've experienced the "aggro", just envy. Of course I'm in Canada where we just like everybody!
