I've just got a '98 xk8 with 40k miles, everything works well, had the timing chain repair done. she spent the last 15 years being driven about 2k miles a year in florida and kept in an air conditioned garage.

I live in central mass and she's my main ride..... except maybe for snow, though she is kinda squirrely on wet roads.

Your XK8 certainly has been very lightly used with that mileage and getting the big issue of tensioners out of the way removes a big risk.
