I've just done something unexpected,
and bought a Jag. Well, I've paid the deposit and pick it up on Monday. It's a 2002 X-type 2.1l V6 - I'm in Australia by the way. I'm not sure if these we're available in the US??? It also is a front wheel drive, but that doesn't off-put me.
It may not be as powerful as an older Jag, or the newer 3.0l variants, but it certainly packs a punch in the low end revs. I actually wanted a Rover 75 (which I now find has the same transmission), but I also entertained the idea of a late 90's - early 00's Mercedes, and I saw a quite nice 2005 Honda Accord Euro. On the way to take the Accord for a test drive, we stopped at a Ford dealer and low and behold, they had a recently traded Jag. It's got 97,000km's on the clock (60,000 miles) and looks and drives like new.
I'm keen to do as much research on these so I can keep it maintained the way it's meant to be.

Welcome, jads. I know there are a few of your countrymen that are here on the forum. Here in NA we're not real familiar with your engine nor FWD instead of AWD but glad you are here.
Welcome Jads. I'm sure you and I will be talking a lot. I don't think you will be disappointed with that car. You actually have something a lot of us would like to have (an X-Type without the transfer case). The transfer case is the weak link in these cars and it gives some of us a hard time if we try to use the car as a sports car.
Sit back, enjoy the forums while drinking some Joe and feel free to join in. I'm sure we can teach you something like you can teach us something.
