Kiwi new (to me) 98' XK8 owner
Greetings and season felicitations from New Zealand to all suffering through the northern hemisphere trashing you are getting at the moment.
I owned a 1-owner 86' XJ6 Sovereign, burgundy, 4.2L, pepper pot wheels. Unfortunately it gave it's life so that I might live after a nose-to-tail on the highway.
After a few years in the wilderness (japanese mostly) I've just bought a gorgeous gold 98' XK8, done 60k miles. Bought it off the the local Jag dealership for NZ$20k, about US$11k, which was about NZ$15kless than the window price. I ground them due to none of the potential disaster work being done, and it is now mine, and booked in for the timing chains, water pump etc to be replaced week after next.
This car is the Japanese spec so has many of the options, like heated seats, traction control etc.
Most of the second hand cars on sale here are darker colours but this one was different, the light gold (topaz), with walnut burr and oatmeal leather, and it really does spin my wheels!
The most recent car was a 91' Lexus SC400 V8 Limited, basically similar spec to the XK8, but what a difference in the driving between them! They both have the quad-cam 4L V8 but there the similarities end.The Lexus drives like an ocean liner compared to the XK8, the Jag has twice the power and handles so well it inspires confidence, something the Lexus never had.
So she proudly sits in the garage beside my fully customized Harley Wideglide and you can't get the grin off my face.
Anyway I'll try to add a few pics taken this afternoonm and I hope to catch up with you on the forums.
More pics of the cat (and Harley) on our personal site.
Regards,
Bruiser (Bruce)

Many thanks.
I've got a quick question, I can't find any way of uploading images into the Gallery, and I've spent an hour looking.
Is this feature only available after some qualification perhaps?

Hey Bruce, welcome. sorry I couldn't help you with that online manual you're trying to find. Maybe start a thread and ask the other xk owners if they have successfully downloaded one you could have.
