Hi,
I'm Kevin from upstate NY.

I own two old Cats. Both 87's. My XJ-6 is just about fully restored. Needs paint this winter. I love it.

My XJ-S is under construction. It was given to me by another Jag enthusiast that loves my XJ-6. He just didn't have the time to spent on the restore.

I'm am building the 12V into a race car. It's almost done but I need a new front cross member. Does anyone know if the cross member from an XJ-6 is compatible with an XJ-S?

I can change the engine mounts easily but it is difficult to recreate the geometry of the suspension. I have cleaned the engine right down to the basic 12 and it is a rocketship.

I'll bet I have 100 lbs of MIG wire in this restore and SCCA compliance project. Now... getting it to run for 24 hours straight will be another issue.

I just don't trust the cross-member in this enough to race it. There are several holes and fractures in the right side of the cross-member. I have other questions about racing a V12 from the tuning perspective.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Kev

That's great! Thanks very much. I wasn't sure how and if I could start a new thread. I keep getting a warning that I'm not allowed to access this page. Same thing happens when I first entered my Land Rover forum too. Thanks for the help, Kev

There's a few restrictions until you got 3 days membership AND a minimum of 10 posts but you're OK to start new threads straightaway.

Post you tech questions in the appropriate model section from the links I put in post #2 above.
