Hi, I'm shopping for my first Jag (XK8). I'm a mid 50's businessman that has owned a collision repair shop for over 20 years.

I remember back in 96 when I owned a late model Corvette, seeing the XK8's with the Arden (or the like) body kit. Man, i looked at new XK8's but the cost was out of reach for me, and resigned the thought of it.

Recently, I saw one advertised that seemed un-Godly cheap..I thought it may be real lemmon, but I've learned of the unbelievable depriciation these cars suffer from ( to my good fortune).

I found this site about a month ago and have learned of the common problems to the early Xk8's, and the common customizations and modifications, as a lurker here.

My budget limits how new a car i'll be able to afford and rules out any XKR's, for now.

I missed out on a very nice 01 vert recently, but have my eye on another and found an 05 vert for consideration, just yesterday. (more on these, later).

It's always good to see another Chicago area member. After a long search, I finally took delivery of a nice 04 XK-8 with just 45K miles

 

Thanks fella's. I might add one claim to fame....in the late 80's I hung out and consumed mass quantities of beer with the TWR Jag racing team durring their heyday of world championships. This was in Valparaiso Indiana where I worked as a body/paint tech at the local Caddy Dealer.

I've always revered the Jags since my first childhood "Matchbox" collection.
