Hi all im a new member from ireland ,i have a couple of jaguars and have been in love with the marque all my life ,i am seeking advice help with a problem with my xjr supercharged 4.2 1997.

I have owned it over 10 years and love it .i was driving home last evening when the power started to die and finally the car came to a stop ,,as it happened on the most dangerous bend in our area ,,the check engine light came on .

I turned off the ignition momentarely and then restarted the car . thankfulyl it drove me home the last few miles , i presume in limp home mode.

i had this problem before with an older xj40 i could never fix it .. aparrently jags are known for this , i have the car garaged and it is my hobby car have any of you got any ideas what it may be ,,,thanks in anticipation .mono

Hello mono, welcome to the site. Sounds like you have a touch of nostagic Lucas-itis to remind you of the old days. Best ask your tech questions in the dedicated X308 section

XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

I'm sure you'll get lots of help.

Welcome to the forum mono,

Good to have you with us.
Follow the link above and post all the details there, the first thing people will ask for are the codes, can you get them checked?
Enjoy the forum.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.
