Smile My first Jaguar...

is a "Daimler"...

I've had several Mercedes S-class cars before and currently I am the prowd owner of a classic Porsche (1978 928) an E-class Mercedes CDI and a Chrysler.

But: Finally I got myself a Jaguar. This big cat is a 1995 Daimler Six (I guess this one goes by the name X300?).

This beautiful machine is dark burgundy metallic, has beige/ecru interior and it really rides like a dream!!!

I don't have any photos yet (got the car yesterday).

This may sound a little strange, but the car will be our "holiday-car" as it is located in Poland (my wife is Polish, and we needed a car there as we spend most holiday in Poland).

I haven't noticed many issues on the car yet apart from 2 things:

1. The window washer does not work (I can't hear the pump humming when pulling the lever, so I guess the pump is broken?). Have appointment at workshop tomorrow to try to figure it out.

2. The battery power is lost during the night. I don't think that any electrical stuff was on (could not see anything). I did however manage to start the car using a "power-pack" (booster?) portable start up aid.
Will ask the workshop to look into it.

Have (of course) also ordered an oil/filter change just to be on the safe side

Still: Driving the big cat is very nice (when it starts and when I can see where I'm driving after changing the wiper blade).

I will put in some photos when I get them transfered from my camera (forgot the multi card reader at home in Norway... )

Anyway. I hope to be part of the forum and I will get back with info regarding the findings on the washer and power issues.

Regards

CatoBT

Welcome to the forum CatoBT,

I hope you get the glitches ironed out.

I spent a few weeks in Svelvik some years ago taking some machines out of the paper mill, happy days.

Welcome! It is so nice any time we can add to the diversity of our wonderfully helpful and knowledgable Jag community. Be sure to keep us informed about your experience with Jag dealers in Norway and Poland (the experiences seem to be a little ragged in other parts of the world).

I still dream about the vast unspoiled, breathtakingly beautiful natural scenery in Norway. Please, please don't ever let developers spoil it!

Welcome and greetings from Ireland. Your "glitches" dont sound too serious and may even be related? No doubt as time goes on and you become more accustomed to your car, you may uncover more "thing that need/deserve attention. It's a joy to own and an absolute pleasure to drive and can be a lot of fun to look after. Happy motoring!!

Thanx a lot for welcoming me into the forum!

This morning the cat started without any problems. But during the day I had similar problems as yesterday. I'm starting to think it is some issue with the anti-theft system... Anyway: Got it started again, and now it runs great.

I'll get back to more details from the workshop in the X300 forum

Rgds
