New 2001 XK8 Owner

New 2001 XK8 Owner
About 35 years ago I was given a classic driving cap from my sister and her husband returning from a trip to England. After much wear and tear over the years, including over 20 years in a 1963 Corvair Spyder Convertible, I took it with me to Hong Kong last year where for the cost of 2 or 3 new caps I had it refurbished to look almost new. Now, finally, I have the appropriate car to wear that cap in, for I'm the proud 2 day-old owner of a beautiful 2001 XK8 convertible.
I've browsed in your forum for the past couple of days and have gleaned much useful information already, and noted especially the kindness and courtesy shown here by the members. I'm looking forward to participating in this community, and although I'm only a new Jaguar owner I hope that I can soon contribute to the knowledge base here too.
I want to make sure my XK8 remains in the same fine condition that it's in today, but there are already issues that need correction so I have a host of questions. But I'll leave those to post in the appropriate forum areas after I complete some more searches and leave this post to only serve as my introduction.

Steve, nice introduction and welcome to the forum. Congrats on your purchase of an XK8, a really fine automobile. I hope your classic driving cap stays in place when you're into the wind with the new rag-top. Best of luck with your car and hope the issues are minor. Also, great to have another member here from Cali. Have fun here.
