Default new to the forum

hello,

new to this forum, have had the jag for years (1998 vdp)

i discovered a problem yesterday that hopefully someone has insight into.
my hood will not release on the drivers side. passenger side is working correctly. i removed the plastic inner fender on the wheel well which did not give access to the hood latch from underneath. has anyone had this problem and solved it? do i have to cut a hole in the metal to access the latch and if so where?
any help will be greatly appreciated,
eric

Hi Eric welcome to the forum. Post into the XJ8 section year for you car, I have seen this problem before and I don't remember cutting being involved, more of a fiddle with a long screw driver IIRC.
