Hi. My name is Don Reeder. I'm brand new to the forum. Purchased a XJ8 about 5 months ago and love it. I have notice a small coolant leak around the thermostat housing and find that they are made of plastic. Found a new aluminum replacement at jag bits made of aluminum. Do you have to pull the intake manifold to get at the rear bolts that hold it to the block? I think it is a dry manifold but would rather not pull it if there is another way. Thanks in advance. Would appreciate any help with this.

Welcome to the forum Don,

This is a regular issue and the aluminium aftermarket a popular replacement. The rear bolts are (just!) accessible with a crow's foot wrench.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Southwest Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/southwest-us-az-tx-nm-ok-37/ to find other members in your region.
